Biography

The Catchers have done rock the hard way, their own way. Made records that cost them dollars they didn’t have. Learnt to play on stages in front of crowds waiting for someone else. Kept at it. Improved. Made more records for even more money they didn’t have. Became tougher and tighter. Learnt the art of rock and roll from the inside out. Played every shithole on the eastern seaboard. Supported bands they didn’t care for. Borrowed petrol money to get back down the Hume. Borrowed more money to make an even better record. Noticed the bands around them who had previously feigned an interest in the Stooges were starting to sound more like Depeche Mode. Noticed and promptly ignored it.

The Rye Catchers are tough and vital. Sinewy and resilient.
And the new stuff rocks.
